The squib nodded.

"Just remember, ones are wild... They count as anything. Also, you can call someone a liar if you think there aren't that many dice on the table. If you call them a liar and they're not lieing, they take all the money. If they are lieing and you call them a liar, you take all the money."

The game was just starting, and the squib joined in, motioning for Hunter to join if he liked, or at least to sit at the table if he didn't want to play.

There were three players in all, and each one threw in fifty chips. This game only had one bid per round, and a round wasn't over until someone had been caught lieing.

The dice were all rolled and concealed in the cups so that only the person who could roll them saw what they were. The squib was first to bid, and said. "I bid... Two fives."

The squib allowed Hunter to see her dice, revealing she had three fives, one two and a four.

The second player looked at his dice and replied. "I bid three fives." Which the third person replied to with. "I bid... Five fives." The squib looked to both players before saying. "Six fives." The next person pondered for a moment before saying. "Liar." He revealed his hand, two fours, a one, a three and a six. The other opponent revealed two fives, one six, one four and a two.

The squib revealed her hand. "I have three fives. He has two, and you have a one... One's are wild. That makes six fives."

The opponent growled, and the money was pushed over to the squib, who took it happilly and looked to Hunter. "Quick, high stakes and good pay out. Any questions?"

Hunter shook his head

"I think I will have a try at it this time but I won't be surprised if I lose"

He then sat in the game and waited for the bid.

The squib nodded and pushed in fifty credits, the two people matching this amount. Would Hunter join with such a high bid? Or would he sit out again?

Hunter was given his hand... Three ones, one two and a four... Ones were of course wild, but having so many of them gave Hunter a very stable position. The person to the squibs left started the bidding. "One two." Then the person to his left went. "Three sixes." It was Hunter's bid now, and by rule, he wasn't allowed to go below sixes, but with three ones in his hand, this wasn't a problem.

The squib was next, and she calmly called. "Nine sixes." The person who was coming up looked pretty tempted to call liar, but he was hesitating... If Hunter wanted to call in, he would have a chance.

The squib revealed her hand... a one, a four, a five and two sixes. "That's two."
The next person revealed their hand... Two twos, two threes and a six. "That's three."

The Squib was looking a little worried now as she realised the last person had only had one six, but the next person revealed a five and four sixes. "That's seven... If you have two sixes, I aren't lieing."

Of course, Hunter didn't have two sixes... But he did have three ones, and since they were wild, that made ten sixes. The squib hadn't lied, and the chips would be pushed over to her once more.

Once again, the bid was fifty chips (which was low for a bid in Liars dice) and everyone shook their dice.

Hunter was given two ones, two fours and a two. Not a bad roll. But of course, it wasn't only his roll that mattered. The person to Hunter's right bid first. "I bid four sixes."

It was now Hunter's bid.

The squib was next, and as always she had a habit of raising the bid by quiet a margain. "Nine sixes."

As with before, the other two looked hesitant to call liar. The maximum bid in a game of four people would be twenty of one dice... Getting nine was rare, but the squib had already proven it wasn't impossible. Still... Would it happen twice in a row? The odds of the players rolling that many ones and sixes was pretty slim.

Ultimately, the question was... Would anyone call liar?

The squib revealed her hand. "One six and two ones. That's three." The squib had also had a three and a four.

The next person revealed their hand. "I got one, two, three, four, five. Possibly the worst hand in the game... But yeah... That one makes it four."

The next person revealed their hand. "Almost the same as her. Two ones, one six, a four and a five. That makes seven. I hope you don't have two ones or sixes man."

Hunter had to reveal his hand, showing the two ones that made the full nine sixes all together.

The squib grinned. "Well looks like that was a good guess wasn't it? That's what I love about going almost last... You can tell what your opponents are holding." The squib forked over the chips, pushing them all into her bag. "Anyone else want another game?"

Hunter shook his head

"I think I'm gonna call it a day, I was aiming to win enough for a ship but my luck doesn't seem to be holding up a lot"

He then got up to go change his remaining chips back into credits.

Hunter's 60 chips were turned back into credits, and he could see the squib doing the same at another booth not so far away. Once the squib had changed her chips to credits, she would head outside.

Manual labour never paid well in the Salgaro galaxy... Robots were hired for such things, and it wasn't like the demand for work was high at all. Hunter would be better off bounty hunting or mark hunting. Alternatively, he could get a loan from one of the loan sharks in the galaxy... The nearest one was in Grendl city centre.

There didn't appear to be any bountys up at the moment. There was still the mark for the suspected wolf, made by Farmer Douglas. But nothing else that was within Hunter's experience range.
